So tomorrow is day one of riding 1,000m vertical per day. And, of course, the forecast is for rain with snow on the tops. Oh well it might as well be a bit challenging ;-)
I’ve been busy making preparations and I think I have everything ready but I did discover my front fork is leaking a bit of oil and needs the seals replaced again. Time to go online and pay exorbitant amounts for little bits of rubber and sponge. Fork seals are something that need replacing just seldom enough that I can never remember what to do so it feels like a big job as I learn how to take forks apart again. That’s for another day though.
Local (made in Wanaka) and we used it all the way to Wellington to.
So I have the bike, my phone for tracking the rides, my headphones to keep me amused on the uphills and drown out the nagging voice telling me to slow down on the downhills, butt butter to soothe the undercarriage, and I’ve taken delivery of two weight watchers scales (one for the office and one for home) which have 50g graduations so I can weigh sweat-loss. I even remembered to calibrate them together in my office before I brought one home. Seems I’m consistently 300g lighter on the one I’ve brought home so I’ll take that into account in my sweat-loss calculations.
Now which one did I step on first - have I gained or lost weight?
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. With your generosity, I’m currently 3rd Individual on the sweat4cf.org.nz page.
